Cowboys & Indians - Opening Tonight!
Onofono, in association with VideoCabaret, presents the acclaimed clown-mime fantasia Cowboys & Indians, an hilarious piece of physical theatre created and performed by Anand Rajaram with music composed and performed by Bob Wiseman.
An Eastern Western, this imaginative showdown is wordlessly expressed by Rajaram’s telegraphic body and Wiseman’s eloquent score.
Awarded the Spotlight Award at the Summerworks Theatre Festival and accolades from NOW Magazine in its “fest’s best” list for Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble, Cowboys & Indians explores the romance of cowboy culture through the eyes of a curious outsider who ventures into the Wild West with dreams of living like a cowboy, only to experience the unimaginable.
Cultural wavemaker Anand Rajaram is Artistic Director of both Onofono and diaspoRadicals. An actor, writer, director, puppeteer and performance artist, he has worked with numerous theatre companies, performing both modern and classical texts. He has been associated with VideoCabaret from City for Sale (2004) to Laurier (2008) and rocked the room at Second City from 2005-7. This summer, he reprises his role in Rice Boy at the Stratford Festival; the fall sees him perform with Puppetmongers in Chris Earle’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Hard Times. Upcoming feature films include The Good Friday, You Are Here, Silent But Deadly and Suck; for television, Majority Rules (Teletoon's first live action tv show) and two animated series - The Dating Guy (Teletoon) and Five Boys And A Garden Hose (Disney).
