Toronto Arts Council/Foundation at Doors Open Toronto

Join us on May 23rd and 24th as Toronto Arts Council and Foundation participate in Doors Open Toronto.

In the spirit of our 35th anniversary and the theme of Doors Open this year, Lit City, Toronto Arts Council invites you to visit us this weekend for a special display. TAC will be open 10am-5pm both days as an official Doors Open Toronto location. Visitors will experience a special weekend-long exhibition that features all submissions from our Get Lit! Competition. Get Lit! is meant to celebrate the arts in Toronto by encouraging creative work that includes a literary element inspired by this city. The Get Lit! display will explore text and spoken word and will present new ways of telling city stories.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the arts in Toronto by exploring TAC’s roots throughout the city. We are located at 141 Bathurst Street just south of Queen Street West at the confluence of several of downtown’s distinct neighbourhoods and destination areas (Kensington Market, University Avenue, the Garment District, The Grange).

Get Lit! was launched by Toronto Arts Council Foundation in association with Lit City as part of Toronto Arts Council's 35th anniversary celebrations. A special one-time jury comprised of Diana Bennett, Geoff Pevere, Alana Wilcox and Paulina O'Kieffe reviewed all entries and selected the top three submissions. Congratulations to our three finalists Philip Quinn, Goran Boskovic and teenah edan who will also be featured online at Open Book Toronto.
